A quick reminder… or how I try to get past writer’s block

Saturday, November 5th, 2011

Yes, I’m at that place in NaNo. Four days in.

It’s not that I’m behind on word-count or anything. It’s just that I’ve written myself into a bit of a jam. Well, a whole two-litre jar of it to be honest.

I guess I’ll just need to get the ninja’s in. In a novel about 19th century Holland. Perfect.

Let the novelling madness begin!

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

It is november which means: time for National Novel Writing Month!

This is my third time participating in this wonderful, insane, amazing, challenging, mind-boggling, completely mad event. I finished well in time in 2009 and failed miserably last year. Let’s hope I’ll win again this year.

Because I’m too busy writing my novel I’ll post an excerpt from my post about NaNo last year.

National what you ask? NaNoWriMo is the brainchild of Chris Baty, a San Francisco inhabitant who one day in 1999 decided to become a novelist – in name. Since then the program has grown into a world-wide affair with a LOT of people participating each year.

In 2009, NaNoWriMo had over 165,000 participants. More than 30,000 of them crossed the 50K finish line by the midnight deadline, entering into the annals of NaNoWriMo superstardom forever.

What about you? Have you ever heard about NaNoWriMo before? Ever considered joining the madness fun?
