Smiles and watercolour

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

This afternoon in art history class (the last of this trimester) we didn’t have ‘regular’ class but spent the two hours doing some instinctive painting. It was a lot of fun and we actually got some nice results.

Most of our work was abstract but then suddenly I felt like doing a portrait so I did a quick abstract-ish one of Lisa. She was so lovely to pose for a picture with it before taking it home with her.

It was weird to work with a different medium than acryllic paint though. Some of the colours were so wet that they blended into each other (see the mouth on Lisa’s portrait). But I do think that with the right paper watercolour could be an interesting medium for me.

Sweet creative Sunday

I had such a lovely relaxing day. Work was pretty heavy this morning but I love it so that was okay.

Then this afternoon I started plotting for Nanowrimo (one more day and then the madness starts! HELP!) and painted.

Two weeks ago I started work on a piece for a good friend from my class. I’ll show you a tiny sneak peek but not too much (yes Mona, I know you’re probably on here and are dying to find out what I’m painting… hehe).

Do any of you like to paint? Or draw or spend your time with another creative endeavor?
