Paris is always a good idea

Some cities have soul. Some cities just breathe this certain je ne sais quoi.

Paris is the original je ne sais quoi city. It sweeps you up in its arms and makes you fall in love.

On Monday we went to Paris for the day. We visited the Eiffel tower, went to the summit and had a glass of champagne. Hello feeling like a million bucks.

Then we visited the Maritime Museum and got ourselves a delicious coffee (and some tea) at Place Trocadéro. The perfect short visit.

Spellbound in a magical place

I spent two wonderful days in Disneyland Resort Paris. It was lovely to be back there and give our Annual Passes some work five months after our last trip.

Can I just say that I love Disneyland during the holiday season? The decorations are so wonderful and that music!

We arrived on Christmas Day and spent the entire day in the park. For Christmas dinner we went to Walt’s restaurant. It was wonderful: a quiet, luxurious atmosphere and I had the best risotto of my life for a wonderful main course.

On our last day there we saw Alice again, a friend of ours who works at the Thunder Mesa shop. It was lovely seeing her again and we made a deal: if none of my auditions work out I’ll come and work at Disneyland too. This summer Alice’s mum said I’d be a great Cinderella. I don’t know about that but I wouldn’t say no to a gig in the parade.

Recipe for a great Christmas Eve

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

And my Christmas Eve was just that. A quiet affair with some family and friends, good food, great dessert and some nice gifts.

How did you spend your Christmas Eve? Please link to any blog posts about it, I’d love to see!

I love just lighting up the candles on the dinner table. Nothing screams Christmas more for me than candles and a lit up Christmas tree.

Mini javanais and misérables cakes and a big chocolate mousse cake? Dessert doesn’t get much better than that!

A little smile and a word of cheer

It’s Christmas Eve. I’ll be spending tonight with my family and then we’re off to Paris and Disneyland for three days.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

A simple cup of… warmth

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

I’ve arrived home for the holidays and it is brilliant. My plan for tonight is snuggling on the couch with a huge mug of hot chocolate and watching a movie together with my mum and brother.

What are your plans? Have your holidays started already?

1 day to Christmas

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

One more day!! I’m absolutely delighted that Christmas is here at last.

I’ll be doing some last-minute shopping (I still need to get my grandpa something… he’s not that easy to buy something for) but then I’ll just enjoy a bit of time off with my family.

Talking of last-minute shopping. I went shopping on Tuesday with a couple of my classmates and just had to buy this adorable ring. Doesn’t it just scream Christmas? And it’ll be super with my fresh Ruby Pumps manicure.

2 days to Christmas

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

On Sunday it snowed a tiny bit here in Belgium and instantly I started yearning for a white Christmas. Not that it would be very practical as we’ll be driving to Paris to visit Disneyland on Christmas day but just because it seems so fitting for the holiday.

Also tonight is my last night here with my housemates: I’m moving to another place on the 30th. I have to say that I’m a bit relieved: no more conflicting bio-rhythms of them making lots of noise every night and me having to get up hours before they do.

3 days to Christmas!

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Unfortunately I was forced to skip the four days to Christmas post as my browser crashed and burned a million times in a couple of hours. However I’m back!

The following video is pretty awesome but I do hope that for all of you Present Face will be minimized this year.

5 days to Christmas

Monday, December 19th, 2011

Where is all this time going? Five more days only?

Today was my last exam (drama) and it went well. Of course it didn’t go as fantastically brilliant as I had wanted but we can only strive for excellence instead of perfection. Afterwards I joined the bulk of my classmates and we went to the Christmas market here in Antwerp.

Unfortunately the weather decided to spoil everything with a lot of rain. We did however get some awesome pictures before fleeing the cold and rain.

6 days to Christmas

Less than a week to Christmas! It’s coming up really fast.

I still have a quite a bit of Christmas shopping to do and also the consequent gift wrapping. The few gifts we already had are already nicely wrapped under the tree.

Is it crazy that I actually prefer wrapping presents to unwrapping them? The possibilities are endless and there is so much beautiful inspiration to be found online. Some of my favourites:
