9 days to Christmas

I love sitting down at a beautifully set table. It instantly sets the mood, encourages conversation and puts smiles on everyone’s faces.

Last year I didn’t really set a table as Christmas dinner was a bit of a small and somber affair with my grandma just dying before the holiday period but I do have pictures from Christmas of 2009. I made the most divine double chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Needless to say it was the hit of the evening.

Sometimes all you need for decoration is a kick-ass cake. Chocolate is a plus.

For this year I’m going to try to go for something a little less minimalistic so I gathered some inspiration below.

What about you? Do you like decorating for Christmas? Do you go all-out?

      I’m still debating what kind of cake I’ll bake for this year. It’s going to be something a bit lighter as we leave for Disneyland and Paris early on Christmas morning. So excited!
